20 years of faith & fun!Sharon has enjoyed an AWANA ministry for the past 20 years! Join us each Sunday evening at 5:30pmf or a great time of faith and fun for every child! The name AWANA come from the first letters of the phrase “approved workmen are not ashamed” (2 Timothy 2:15). AWANA is a ministry that helps parents and churches raise their children and youth to know, love and serve Christ.
|
Our prayer is that all children and youth throughout the world will come to know, love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.
AWANA Schedule
Children should be in the fellowship hall promptly at 5:30 p.m. Please come into the fellowship hall to pick up your children. You are encouraged to come in and listen quietly to our closing ceremony at 7:00 p.m. This time will include announcements and reminders of AWANA events.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth. |
5 principlesThe AWANA Clubs embrace 5 principles:
|
Awana DuesEach week clubbers are encouraged to bring dues. The suggested amount is only $1 per child, but dues are NOT required. Dues are used to support an international AWANA Club. Clubbers will hear updates on the clubs, and periodically see videos of how their dues are helping children in another country hear the gospel.

Come Prepared
AWANA Materials
Clubbers will be responsible for their uniform, book, and bag throughout the year. If they lose their book, they will be responsible for paying for a replacement. The cost of book will vary from class to class. |
Each week clubbers should come prepared for fun and fellowship! Being prepared means…
|
AWANA Club Rules
Our club rules are simple and easy to follow. They help every student enjoy an amazing experience at AWANA.
- Respect God and others
- Use kind words
- Keep your hands and feet to yourself
AWANA Discipline
The word discipline often is used negatively. Actually, discipline is meant to be a loving approach to teaching children appropriate behavior. It comes from the word disciple and literally means “to teach” or “to mold”. Children need discipline to become healthy, mature adults. Many people incorrectly refer to punishment as discipline. The correct use of discipline involves expectations, rules, consequences, and correction. Positive discipline seeks to instruct as well as change behavior. It will help a child feel loved and secure. |
The 5 Count is the main way leaders keep order in a group. The leader in charge counts to 5 slowly and loudly, while holding one hand in the air. Clubbers respond by being quiet and still by the count of 5.
The 3 Count is for an individual child who continues to misbehave after given opportunities to correct their behavior.

Parents
As important as children’s workers are, we know that parents have the greatest opportunity to influence the overall spiritual development of children. To that end, AWANA has many resources available for parents, all housed under the program title of AWANA at Home. Please speak with any AWANA leader if you are interested in any at home materials to help you
and your family know more about God’s love.
Sharon also invites you and your family to join us for other activities through the week. Our Sunday morning worship time is 10am and we have small group Bible study opportunities for all ages starting at 9am. Other opportunities are available as well. Please contact the church office for details on events and activities happening this week.

note from the pastor
Thank you so much for checking out our AWANA Clubs. We would be delighted to have you and your family join us! What a great way to have fun and learn about the love of our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ! It’s our greatest desire to see you and your family grow in love with Jesus, so if there’s anything we can do to help encourage you in your relationship with Him, please reach out and let us know.
Many of you may have a home church to call your own and we celebrate that with you! Let us encourage you to be active and faithful to what the LORD is doing in your home church. However, if you do not have a church family and would like to hear more about Sharon and how you and your family can be a part of what the LORD is doing here, please let me know. I’d count it a gift from the LORD to have you join us for worship some time. May the LORD of all richly bless you and your family as you seek to know Him, Pastor Kevin |
